Welcome to the Rapides Outpatient Center - Rapides Regional Medical Center's facility dedicated to providing greater convenience for patients needing diagnostic tests involving laboratory, radiology, respiratory therapy or cardiology services.
The center is open from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can reach us by telephone at 473-3777 before your visit.
If your tests are scheduled in advance, you may receive a telephone call from Rapides Regional's Centralized Scheduling Department. This telephone call will allow us to gather information from you that will expedite your admission process to the Rapides Outpatient Center. It also allows us to discuss any information that will better prepare you for your diagnostic tests.

The Day of Your Visit
When you arrive for your appointment, we encourage you to use our valet parking service. Simply drive to the front door of the Rapides Outpatient Center, where a valet will meet you to park your car. If you prefer not to use our valet parking services, you are welcome to park elsewhere on the campus and use Rapides Regional's free campus shuttle service.
At the door of the Rapides Outpatient Center, you will be greeted by our staff who will request the following information from you:
the packet of information given to you by your physician
your driver's license
your insurance card(s)
the prescription from your physician, which includes information about the tests you will have and your need for these tests.
At the time of registration, patients who receive Medicare benefits may be required to sign an Advanced Beneficiary Notice and accept responsibility for payment of tests or services for which Medicare denies payment.
After your arrival, you will be taken to one of our six private registration rooms. Here, our staff will gather information about your medical history and draw blood for lab tests. Patients receiving radiology or cardiology tests will be escorted through a connected hallway into the Radiology Department or to the second floor to the Rapides Heart Center. Respiratory therapy patients will also be escorted to their tests.
Once your tests are completed, our valet will deliver your car to the center's front door for you.
